Central’s Children’s & Youth Programs
Growing up physically healthy requires good food, an active lifestyle and lots of love. Likewise, good nourishment and activities that lovingly help build a strong faith are essential in order for a child to thrive spiritually.
The goal of the youth ministry at Central church of Christ is to provide a program that engages the minds and the hearts of our children while building a solid foundation for faith in God. To this end, age-appropriate Bible classes are available for every group starting as early as infancy, continuing through primary and high school grades and beyond.
Bible Classes
Two times every week, on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, children at Central get into God’s word in studies designed for their level of development. Timeless stories of faith and obedience, promise and deliverance teach our youth the essence of God, why He loves them and prove why He can be trusted for eternity.
Children’s Bible Hour
During the latter part of our worship time together on Sunday mornings, while adults are listening to a message brought by our minister, children ages 2 through 5 can be a part of Children’s Bible Hour, where the truth of God’s Word is presented in a fun and interactive way.
Keenagers
Young people in the 3rd through 6th grades have fun getting together for devotionals and movie nights as well as going on outings such as laser tag, bowling, miniature golf, water slides, movie and video game nights throughout the year. Bonds formed with other pre-teen children during group activities help establish the connections essential for forming a solid Youth Group in the often challenging teenager years.
Youth Group
As 7th through 12th graders are learning to become adults, connections with older members of the congregation must be established. Central makes teens feel a part of the church family by using many of the young men in the worship assembly and the young women in various functions throughout the year. Training in leadership and service is offered to all teens. Opportunities for serving others, both within the church family and in the greater community outside the church, are offered through activities such as visiting our elderly and “shut-in” members, church work days, vacation bible school, etc.
Be a Part of the Growth
We’re proud of the development we continue to see in so many of our youth – young people who are making the wonderful decision to become faithful servants of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We know that a large part of this is due to the strong examples of godly living they see all around them in their earthly families as well as the biblical training, mentoring and encouragement they receive from their church family. God’s word is making a difference in young lives at Central!
